The Raven is your second engine of might next to heroes. It fights with its own skill, carries six gear pieces and unlocks the Epigraph system. This page sums up levels, stars, gear and where the essence comes from.
Short answer: The Raven Nest opens at Sanctuary 7. The Raven levels up to 250 with Raven Fruit and Raven Essence, gains a star at levels 30, 50, 70, 90 and 110, and its gear goes to level 12. Buy Raven Essence in the VIP and Alliance shops every week.
Raven skill
Raven Fireworks hits the two enemies with the most HP every 13 seconds. Damage grows from 1,184% to 1,894.2% of the Raven's ATK as you level the skill. Because it picks the highest HP targets, the Raven chips at enemy tanks while your carries hit the back row.
Levels, stars and costs
A star needs the Raven at level 30, 50, 70, 90 and 110. Before the first evolution the gates sit one level higher (31, 51 and so on). The table shows HP at a level and the total fruit and essence from level 1. Fruit totals for level 250 differ slightly between sources (235.6 and 235.2 million).

Raven gear at level 12
Six slots, each from level 1 to 12. The percent bonuses on the hero side are what makes Raven gear strong, they apply to every hero in the squad.

Two sets add flat stats at level 12: the Night Raven Mask (720k, 400k and 2,860) and the Raven Feather Cloak (5,150, 5,150 and 2,860).
Raven Workshop
The Raven Workshop opens at Sanctuary 15 and has 30 levels. It makes a Raven Gear Chest every 4 hours at level 1 and every 3h 2m at level 30, and stores up to 24 hours of output. Collect it at least once a day.
