No cookies, no tracking
This site sets no cookies, builds no user profiles and loads no external fonts or images. All images are on our own hosting. The search and all tools run entirely in your browser.
Language setting
When you choose a language with the EN/DE switch, we store that choice only locally in your browser (localStorage, key "laLang"). It is never sent to us.
Tools and games in your browser
Some tools store your input only locally in your browser (localStorage): your hero list ("laMineMissing", "laMineAll"), streak and guesses in Hero of the Day ("laDaily") and the alliance checklist ("laCheck"). This data is never sent to us. You can delete it on the My heroes page or in your browser settings.
YouTube videos (two click solution)
On the videos page we first show only self hosted preview images. Only when you click "Load video" is a YouTube player loaded in privacy enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). This transfers data such as your IP address to Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC, including to the USA. The legal basis is your consent by clicking (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Without a click there is no connection to YouTube.
Hosting
The site is delivered via Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address and the time of access to deliver the site and protect it from attacks (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
For anonymous visitor numbers we use Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). No cookies are set and no user profiles are built. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Links to sources open external sites. Their operators are responsible for their privacy practices.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77), for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
